Juvenile Diversion Program

Offering youth a second chance to make a positive decision

This program offers youth from ages 12 - 17 an alternative to the court system when they make a wrong decision that leads to a juvenile offense. Youth are typically referred by law enforcement, but may also come from schools or parents.

The youth and one or both parents are given the opportunity to participate in a 5-week program where they learn and work together on activities that teach life skills and improve interpersonal relationships. Each class lasts 2½ hours and includes homework that must be completed by both the student and parent. The student must complete 8 hours of community service as well .

Specific topics include:

Understanding & Positively Expressing Feelings Alcohol/Drug Use and Abuse
