Frost Damage on Wheat

FROST DAMAGE ON WHEAT

This damage appears to be patchy in fields in lower and/or exposed areas. Stems on some tillers seem to have damage a couple of inches above the soil. These tillers show browning and leaves on these tillers are yellowing and dying. The wheat head is still green and whether it will emerge and the affected tillers will produce any grain is still in doubt. For more information contact Paul C Hay, Extension Educator.
