| The House That Love Built The seemingly insignificant aluminum tab you use to open your soft drink is important to Ronald McDonald House. Ronald McDonald Houses provide a temporary home for families with children facing a life-threatening medical condition. They have 200 homes throughout the world. Last year the Omaha House repored income of $7,000 from the collection of 22 million tabs. The money from the recycled tabs is used to defray the Ronald McDonald House operational costs. Gage County Nebraska 4-H is involved in a community service project for the Ronald McDonald House Charities in Omaha. Deliver your tabs to the UNL - Gage County Extension Office, 1115 West Scott St, Beatrice NE or the 4-H Inc. Building during the Gage County Fair. Tabs are transported to the facility in Omaha. We have reached 3 million tabs as part of the "Thanks A Million" program. Keep savin' tabs - we're on to 4 million!! For more information on the Ronald McDonald House in Omaha click here |
